i believe that this remains the policy of the city and county of san francisco. under mayor fine stein the city of san francisco identified jobs classifications traditionally held by women and people of color and paid less than white men. in many cases the positions required skill and experience and were as value to the city as higher paid ones. after the voters adopted proposition h in 1986 the city started reversing years of discrimination any reversing this trend. over the next decade the cities adjusted pay scales to eliminate gender and race based inequity but as american moved forward san francisco is threatening to go in reverse: the department of human resources has reproposed reducing pay for 45 job classifications and held by women and leaving others alone held by white and men workers. many was done by the historic work to eliminate pay inequities. there is -- on my desk somewhere there was a story that came out in the chronicle. it was associated press story that the chronicle picked up and talks about how in government jobs women are disproportionate

we are looking at upper 60s for downtown san francisco. it will be about 61 degrees for ocean beach. it will be 76 degrees from apple. as we take a look at the 7 day around the bay we're looking at low 70's for tomorrow and upper 60s for sunday. tuesday and wednesday we do have rain pushing through. it will be dry for thursday. >> we continue to monitor the ride around the bay. we're not tracking any hot spots. the bridges look good. the bay bridge toll plaza is easy and no real backup. the san mateo bridge is heavier but the drive time is still just 11 to 13 minutes. the golden gate bridge where our problem free and delays free. we're saying a little bit of slowing than other days of the wake. where a of getting some drive time for you. the east bay commuters still 16 to 18 minutes. there is not much of a commune under way. it is slow for 680 south approaching walnut creek. the north bay they have some slowing as you head past lincoln and the civic center. the drive time is still under 30 minutes. there are delays on public transit just f

this is an exciting time for all of us here in san francisco. and as i stand before you on this day, we celebrate black history month in san francisco. this is a day on which we acknowledge the being at the crossroads of equality and freedom. celebrating the emancipation proclamation as well as the march on washington, as well as the 100th birthday of our dear sister rosa parks. as our country continues to celebrate the beginning and as our country continues to celebrate the beginning of the second term of our great president, president barack obama. now, it's easy to take for granted the progress that we've made as a country because we are forever looking to solve today's problems and as we continue to meet tomorrow's challenges as we shape our future. but what it is, it's definitely worthwhile to take a look back at the great works of our predecessor and the brave men and women who have paved the way for progress that we enjoy here in the 21st century. and if you look around, many of those men and women are right here with us in the rotunda to
